Supreme Court ruling:

“The freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state.”

It's been a good year for some Elder gods.

I have respect for anyone who stands up for what they believe without resorting to violence.

I'm pro-choice, but I support the right of pro-life activists to non-violently protest abortion clinics.

This link will take you to an article that highlights a quote from FDR (via Jay Lake).

Half the comments appear to expose a libertarian philosophy regarding government and employment.

See all the compassion for people struggling to make ends meet?    Me either.

The morning porter (think cleaning person) found a couple of Chick publications in the men's bathroom, had apparently never seen them before.  Chick publications are some of the most offensive you'll ever find, Mr. Chick is a fundamentalist with the brains of a pea, but the tracts are unintentionally funny much of the time.

We were left with "Sin City" and "Allah has no son", respectively illustrating Mr. Chick's terrible stereotypes of gays and Muslims.

I've found Jehovah's Witness pamphlets here too.  JW tracts are much friendler, with friendly pictures of a multicultural collection of smiling people in full color.

We the people is apparently an outdated concept.   We the powerful and well connected, more like it.

First there's this tidbit.

We could mock Gov. Perry for this, but I was struck by his inclusiveness.  This is pretty P.C. for a major Republican, even if he thinks most of us are going to burn in hell.

Frodo Failed

Bush has the ring

Guess that means America is Mordor.  Our government seems to treat us like orcs, no surprises there.

Ask yourself, who better to lead our people out of a coming dark age? Zod!  General Zod has experience at (crushing his own people) maintaining law and order.    Zod's proven track record would be the envy of any nation, or even planet.  He has sucessfully repelled alien invasions to his own planet.  He offers America alien techology that will accelerate the dawn of a new miraculous age that will be lead by (Zod) the United States.  Zod will (crush) dialogue with the various nations of the world and usher in an age of (domination) order and progress.

Please do consider General Zod as candidate for Republican President.  You'll (be crushed) regret it if you don't.

Here at my blog we're (the royal we) starting a new feature, the shithead of the day.

And our first shithead featured is Diego de Landa.    Thanks for burning all the codexes, asshole.

Ah yes, the Congressional Prayer Caucus.    What do you call a thousand members of the CPC under the ocean?

This article indicates "The Republican Study Committee, which includes more than 100 of the most conservative House Republicans" were not really studying after all.

I'd LOVE to see these folks put together a study group.    And I have some topics they could take a look at.

Freshman biology.

Freshman chemistry.

Freshman psychology.

Freshman economics.

And they could round it off with our President giving a seminar on basic constitiutional law.

Of course, you can lead a politician to knowledge, but she or he may not absorb the material.

You may be a Senator elect, Mr. Paul, but you'll always be an asshole.

I didn't want to know about the election results last night.  I choose a good night's sleep, since I knew I'd be depressed by the results.

I'm glad the Senate is still Democratically controlled.   The Dems blew their chance to do something useful, they had control, they lost it.

It does make me wonder that many Democratic supporters stayed home this election.  My brother-in-law asked me how I felt about Obama's performance.  He's a conservative Christian, was curious about my more progressive view.

I didn't go into much detail, but I am disappointed with Obama for not following through with the promise to close Guantanamo Bay.  He let me down.  My brother-in-law alluded to information that us as average Americans are not privy to, to imply that there are factors we don't know about in the decision to close "Torture Base One".  Could be, but unlike the Religous Right who give lip service to wanting to follow rule of law and the Constitution, I do believe in following the Constitution and rule of law.  Like not torturing citizens of other nations, or keeping the seperation of church and state intact.    And Obama failed to make government more transparent, after Bush's "everything is a secret" administration.   A democracy is only as good as the average citizen's knowledge of that government.   If we don't know what's going on with our government, how can we make informed choices about representation?

Silly me.   And f*ck Rick Snyder and the horse he rode in on.  I'm missing you already, Jennifer.

The Montana GOP would like to make homosexuality illegal.    I purpose that we make republicans illegal in the state of Montana.

I'm using my meager magickal powers to divert the snowstorm that's predicted for this area, so if it doesn't snow, you have me to thank. I'm still feeling hopeful about the new year. I'm planning on devoting some time to spreading the word about the lying sack of shit we currently have as unelected president.

Read the Catholic Church is stepping up its campaign of terror against birth control and legal abortion. A big fuck you goes out to the Catholic Church. I'm considering making up picket signs and marching at the so called Catholic Law School in Ann Arbor. In its ironic way, is neither really about law or learning, but how to subvert regional and national law to the Church's will, the same church that continues to pine for the good old days of supreme power over the Western World. Can't wait for that dinosaur to go extinct.

Guess I'm feeling vitriolic today, huh? ;)
