Brain dead morons
Feb. 26th, 2004 08:56 amPeople would get a skewed version of who I am by reading my journal, since I seem to focus on the negative. Ok, full disclosure, I can be a negative person, but I think I use the journal as a way to process those feelings and can leave them here.
Major complaint for today is the outsourcing of customer service to different countries. I talked to a nice woman who had an interesting accent who had no clue about the convention I wanted to book for. She wanted to charge me double the convention rate! Luckily, I called the hotel desk, who transferred me to someone who actually knew what I was talking about.
I just can't see how sending customer service jobs overseas makes any sense. Any savings you net would be lost on poor customer service and a bad reputation as a company. I know when I heard Dell was outsourcing its support, I was immediately turned off from buying one.
Fortunately, many companies have learned its more of a headache than its worth. I know a lot of telemarketers that will need a job soon due to all the telemarketing do not call lists. Bring back the customer service jobs!
