Large mammals in the woods

I saw a total of five deer on a walk through the woods next to the building where I work. Four appeared to be juvenile, one looked like an adult. They got closer to me than I expected. After we both froze, I hunched down and waited. One got within 20 feet, guess he or she was a brave deer. The rest made a large circle around me. Big, powerful animals.

I had an even closer encounter many years ago on a nature trail. That deer's head was even with mine. He or she was moving perpendicular to the trail. It was about one foot from my face. Guess I've got some deer medicine.
