Christmas hasn't meant much to me for a long time. I was a practicing pagan for around 8 or 9 years, so celebrating Baby Jesus (in a blender) just doesn't excite me. It is nice to get time off though, and see some of the relatives.
Since my folks have retired to da U.P. S and I have decided to visit our respective families for Thanksgiving and not drive through snowstorm after snowstorm with 4x4 nuts flipping their vehicles left and right. I've seen this happen on more than one trip up there; some moron driving too fast for the conditions passes me like a bat out of hell, then 15-20 miles ahead we see the same moron with his/her vehicle upside down in the ditch.
We spent Christmas as a duo. Went out to see 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' (liked it, still wished they would have had the copy of the Life Aquatic when they were supposed to) and then had Chinese at a favorite restaurant. I was mildly disappointed at the lunch menu, should have gone for dinner, but it was still tasty. Dim Sum is not appetizing to your average vegetarian. (I'll tell you where to shove that chicken's foot)
My wife really loves me. She spent most of Christmas day and evening working on a Magic deck and play testing it with me. She needs a few good zombies to round out the deck, like a couple Soulless Ones, a Grave Defiler or the zombie that lets you dig for a zombie and a land card (name escapes me). If anyone would like to donate zombies for a good home let her or I know.
My family did a gift exchange at my brother's new home during my nephew's first birthday on the 11th. Got a few interesting DVD's. We're having a post Xmas get together this afternoon. I'll bring the digital camera today so I can post a few pics of the adorable next generation, which includes my 3 month old niece Katy in addition to her older and much more mobile cousin Mike.
Hope y'all had a great Xmas, Yule, or Winter Solstice.
