Anyone have any experience with laying hardwood flooring on a cement slab?  Doesn't seem too complicated, just wondering if anyone has has any tips or tricks.  I'm hoping to complete this during the week I have off before Xmas.   Wish me luck.

Living room dimensions:  185.58 square feet, minus 8.97 square feet for the closet.

11 ft 5 in by 16 ft 3 in, closet is 3 ft 2 in by 2 ft 10 in.

I think a foam underpad will do the trick. I'm actually looking at laminate flooring, no nailing or glue needed.

I remember reading about a thin layer of plastic on top of the cement to keep it waterproof from the bottom.
Laminate flooring goes down a lot easier, just make sure that the floor is level. Laminate flooring is less forgiving of uneven surfaces than hardwood flooring. (which is why we went with the hardwood flooring in the end. The sub flooring had been put in with no room, and as a result, warped.)
