Channeling the rage
Aug. 3rd, 2006 01:31 pmOne of the few positives of living at a time when authoritarian dick-wads have seized control of our government AND working at a clinic in which my supervisors aren't merely overcontrolling micro-managers but nano-managers who make you question every move you make, is that I can sucessfully write about a dystopian near future and make it feel authentic.
It's not paranoia to think the U.S. goverment is spying on you; it is. It's not paranoid thinking to be concerned about your civil rights. The Patriot Act gave them all away. It's not paranoid to think your vote doesn't count; Diebold machines or corrupt Secretary's of State (see Ohio) will lose it if you don't vote for the right person.
Its ironic that our President preaches about spreading democracy and the free exercise of religion in other countries while he's subverting the democratic process here and forcing Christianity down our throats.
