This is an interesting artifact from another era.

Superman and the Mole Men

"That's more than you deserve!"

Superman appears to be against xenophobia, calling American agitators "Nazi storm troopers".  Strong words, since WW II ended just seven years prior.

Well, he WAS comparing them to a liberal enemy. The Russians were our friends during WWII, after all, and they'd be the most obvious metaphor in an "underground" civilization in the era. I suppose it was pretty daring to suggest Americans are as bad as Nazis with regard to Socialism (although, frankly, McCarthy WAS pretty bad). I'm not sure if McCarthy had started the black-listing yet, though.

Mole people are evil in the unmade sequel (and produced videogame) in The Incredibles (the Underminer) -- now the more obvious metaphor isn't communists, but Islamic extremists. I wouldn't be surprised to find that was a deliberate, albeit very subtle, jab at current American foreign policy, since the writers probably stumbled upon this movie in the course of their research.
