Neil Gaiman

I'd like to thank aiela for exposing me to Neil Gaiman. I believe she was the first person (though far from the last) to mention her enjoyment of his work. She's even got a picture of her next to him, I think she's got some of his work personally signed.

I've only read a couple of his novels and a collection of short stories so far, but his work is top notch. American Gods stands out as an awesome book.

The movie Mirrormask was written by him and I can wholeheartedly endorse it. I'd actually prefer people to rent it without preconceived notions, rather than give you any details. Suffice to say it's a fantastic drama that can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of three, but the themes and images resonate for most people.

I've heard great things about him as well, but haven't read yet. In particular, I want to read Good Omens which is a collaboration between him and Terry Pratchett, as I already love Pratchett's writings.

OK, that's bizarre -- this is the 3rd time this movie has been mentioned today. Twice in conversation and now here. *I* couldnt' stay awake through the movie, but I wouldn't say that was a judgement on the movie.

I am curious why it keeps getting mentioned today. I'm obviously supposed to notice, right.

Have your read the "Sandman" graphic novel series? Marie and I really enjoyed those.
