I'd like to thank
aiela for exposing me to Neil Gaiman. I believe she was the first person (though far from the last) to mention her enjoyment of his work. She's even got a picture of her next to him, I think she's got some of his work personally signed.
I've only read a couple of his novels and a collection of short stories so far, but his work is top notch. American Gods stands out as an awesome book.
The movie Mirrormask was written by him and I can wholeheartedly endorse it. I'd actually prefer people to rent it without preconceived notions, rather than give you any details. Suffice to say it's a fantastic drama that can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of three, but the themes and images resonate for most people.
